Transgender Awareness Week was created to help increase understanding about those who identify as transgender and the issues that the transgender community face and leads up to Transgender Day of Remembrance on the 20 November.

Allies are vital, especially at a time where the transgender community faces prejudice, discrimination and violence.

Events

20 November is Trans Day of Remembrance will be held at Bank Park Pavillion, Bank Park, Warrington WA1 1UH from 6.30pm to 9pm

The night will focus on honouring and remembering transgender people whose lives were lost through acts of violence. There will be guest speakers, poems, music, food and refreshments.

  • Our LGBTQ+ Network suggest colleagues use an app to report hate crime incidents against transgender people. The app Zoteria can be used to an anonymously report hate incidents that occur to yourself or others and Galop, is an LGBT+ anti-abuse charity that will provide you with the support you need.
