Paul Leahey.pngWe’re saddened to report the death of one of the great characters of Mersey Care. Paul Leahey, Strategic Estates Project Administrator, died at the end of October after a battle with cancer.

Paul had worked for the NHS for 36 years, of which 23 years were in Mersey Care in several roles and departments. In recent years, his work supporting the development of our sites at Rowan View, Aspen Wood and Hartley was invaluable for his team. Before his illness took hold, Paul was continuing his connection to our new builds by delivering leaflets to the local community around our Mossley Hill site.

Jo Minogue Sharp, Head of Strategic Estates, paid tribute: “Paul was a highly valued colleague and friend, a true gentleman who was always there to offer support and a listening ear to others. Thank you Paul!”

The family wanted all colleagues to know the news and so we offer condolences to Paul’s husband Tom, sister and niece, who all work for our Trust. There will be a private funeral next Thursday.
