Important - service users and the use of plastic bags

Following the inquest into the death of one of our service users, HM Coroner expressed their concern and issued a Paragraph 37 letter about the use of patient/ service user owned plastic bags in patient safety incidents. Therefore, patient/service user owned plastic bags are now prohibited on all wards. Replacement paper bags have been made available to ensure privacy and dignity for those who arrive on wards with a plastic bag.
