Recently we shared with you that AccessAble would be returning to Mersey Care for the annual review of the Access Guides. I am pleased to announce that this process has finished weeks earlier as AccessAble had multiple surveyors doing the work, and also, for your kind support making this process as easy as possible for them.  Thank you.

AccessAble will work on the information they have collected and in due course the Access Guides will be updated.

You do not need to wait for the annual review to update information on a guide.  If there is information that you feel needs updating eg a new service is in a venue, a telephone number is missing a digit, you can contact AccessAble directly via the webpages to send them that detail.  It is essential that we keep the Access Guides as up to date as possible to make them as useful as possible. (Please note, for any maintenance etc matters you would contact your usual internal Mersey Care contacts.)

To recap, in March 2023 Mersey Care launched the, approximately 140, Access Guides for our sites, available via AccessAble’s website and app and Mersey Care public facing website (we are in the process of improving the links between the Mersey Care website and AccessAble website). These were created based on information collected by the AccessAble surveyors’ on-site assessments. The Access Guides will significantly enhance patient experience by providing patients and visitors the accessibility information they need before visiting. These guides do not rate or judge the accessibility of a site, but simply explain what is available, so that patients and visitors can be better informed about the facilities across our sites.

If you would like us to attend one of your team meetings to explain further about the project or for general queries, please contact Cara Donnelli-Hunn, Social and Inclusion Officer, Cara.Donnelli-Hunn@merseycare.nhs.uk
