You have until midnight on 26 November to complete your NHS Staff Survey.

We recognise things are still tough during the pandemic but please take part and complete it as fully and frankly as you can.

For 2021 the survey has been updated to align with the NHS People Promise. The themes and words that make up the People Promise come from those who work in the NHS. They are the main themes that would improve their experience of working. By taking part in the survey, you can help us to understand what it’s really like to work here and help us to improve Mersey Care.

Did you know... the survey is anonymous and confidential?

The survey is run independently and is done to the highest standards of quality and accuracy. What you say is kept confidential and anonymous. Results are only reported to organisations in summary form and in such a way that it is impossible to identify an individual’s responses.

Some may query why the survey they receive requires a personalised log in or ID number. Independent survey contractors use these to ensure that reminder emails or letters are only sent to staff who have not already completed the survey and to tell them information such as the NHS organisation that the person works at. This means that NHS organisations can receive directorate/service level reporting which is essential to inform and support local improvements.

The report that is sent back to the organisation presents the survey findings in summary form and does not reveal the identity of those who took part. Watch our short animation abut how this works.

We’re doing…

We want to be more involved in important decisions

More accessible virtual leadership conversations.

We want to see reductions in bullying and harassment

Our Respect and Civility campaign has gained momentum, more staff are undertaking Restorative Just and Learning Training.

We want opportunities to give feedback and for this to be acted on

We’re doing more to support managers and teams to use the Culture of Care Barometer to gauge staff experience. Results for the barometer and the staff survey are available to all via the BIT so that teams can use the feedback to identify improvements in their areas. Response rates are shared with divisional leads.

We want better quality appraisal conversations

PACE Lite made easier to have those meaningful conversations with individuals.

We want to be in involved more in making decisions about our team

We have introduced Team Canvas and at this time over 100 teams have completed theirs.

We want more development opportunities and career progression

Building on the maximising potential conversations already in place within the PACE/PDR process we will be starting to roll out a new national all-inclusive talent conversation model – “Scope for Growth” over the next few months which will enable you to have a career conversation with your manager and explore career opportunities and development needs.

Please be reassured that no one from our Trust, or the NHS, will be able to see your survey or be able to identify individual responses. All responses to the survey are strictly confidential and will be handled by Quality Health on behalf of the organisation.

We want to hear from you, whatever your role or background, so we can be sure the survey results reflect the experience of everyone who works here.

As an incentive for those who complete, a winner is randomly selected from each division who will receive a £50 voucher.

You will be invited to take part in the survey by email or by receiving a paper questionnaire. If you have not received an invitation or questionnaire in two weeks time, please call 0800 7831 775 - you can also call this number if you need help completing the survey. Information about the survey is available at www.nhsstaffsurveys.com.
