The COVID-19 pandemic means you have been tested like never before. Your hard work, commitment and resilience has meant we can continue to provide care to our patients and support to each other but I don’t underestimate how difficult this has been.

Many of us will have faced personal and professional challenges during this time, being expected to change our working practices and missing out on personal contact, family celebrations and a reassuring hug from those we hold dear.

So in recognition of this we want to put a strong focus on supporting staff health and wellbeing, make a commitment to you to keep this conversation at the heart of everything we do and to ask you to make a pledge to each other on what steps you can take to support yourself and your colleagues remain well.

Health Needs Assessment: Have your say!

With this in mind, we have developed a set of questions. They form part of a Health Needs Assessment survey which give you an opportunity to talk about your physical, mental and environmental health needs. We would never want to assume that we know or fully understand what our colleagues need, which is why we are reaching out to you, to capture your voice. That way you can help us shape our wellbeing offer. We don’t want our approach to feel tokenistic and therefore are encouraging as many of you to complete the survey as possible. It’ll take less than 15 minutes to do.

If you complete the survey, your name will go into a prize draw to win one of five fit-bit wrist bands.  Please tell us what you need by clicking the survey link here: Health Needs Assessment

Wellbeing Wednesday's - The Live Event

Throughout October we are launching our new Wellbeing Wednesday initiative. You are all invited to attend one of four opportunities offering interactive bitesize wellness workshops giving you  the opportunity to meet our wellbeing team who will fully brief you on the wellbeing intervention you can access within Mersey Care. The event will also give you tangible actions and ideas that you can build on, take forwards and localize within your services.

Please sign up to this event; it is for ALL STAFF from ward to board. I promise innovative, energized and outside the box conversations that will prompt an abundance of reflection and positive action for you and your teams. We get how busy people are but if you are able to, please do join us.
