A message from Amanda Oates, Executive Director of Workforce:

As you may be aware we will be introducing a new health management system called Empactis to support staff and managers with reporting unplanned absence and to support health and wellbeing. We will begin a phased roll out of Empactis starting in April 2022 for a period of 12 months.

Before this, and to make sure it is successful in effectively supporting the management of our employees and their health and wellbeing, it is fundamental that line management responsibilities are correct in the ESR system by using the Supervisor Self Serve hierarchy. This will allow the Empactis system to take a daily feed from ESR to ensure Empactis is always up to date with the correct information.

For the majority of the Trust this will mean little change to current practice as the ESR hierarchy already has line managers established.

For some areas, this will mean a slight change for those teams where staff with administrative responsibilities have been set at the top of the hierarchy, to support updates of the ESR system.

Where this creates new or additional work, appropriate support and training will be provided by the ESR team. These changes are being made to ESR in November and we will communicate with teams directly as this happens.

As Empactis is rolled out in a phased manner across the divisions, corporate and Informatics Merseyside there will be an interim period where ESR (or for some Healthroster) remains the primary system of entry for unplanned absence.

We will communicate full details of when the transfer to Empactis will occur.

Mid Mersey Division

For colleagues in Mid Mersey Division, the changes to the ESR hierarchy will not have an immediate impact.  ESR will continue to be the primary system of entry for unplanned absence as the Division will be moving to Empactis later in 2022. We will keep you updated as this new system develops.
