Trish bennett image.pngOur new integrated service for people in North Mersey, based at a newly refurbished Stoddart House, opened earlier this year following a joint project between Mersey Care and Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

In anticipation of winter pressures, it is now a Trust priority to open an additional 32 beds by 16 September 2021 to create a 69 bedded unit. In order to achieve this, we need the support of our staff to fill a number of outstanding roles, with managers expected to free up staff who wish to apply for redeployment.

While we appreciate services across the Trust are feeling pressures during this unprecedented time, Stoddart House is one of our priorities. It will also provide a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to develop new skills or even explore new career opportunities.

The service provides step down capacity from acute trusts for medically stable and optimised patients, who are those whose care and assessment can be continued at home or in a non-acute setting or they are ready to go home. It will also be open to patients needing step up care from community settings that require reablement or convalescence where alternative out of hospital home care has been exhausted.

Staff groups that are required include:

  • Band 6 Registered Nurses
  • Band 5 Registered Nurses
  • Band 4 Nursing Associates
  • Band 3 Support staff.

Ward experience for these roles is preferable but not required, as full induction and training will be provided. All qualified staff should be trained in physical health nursing (RGN).

Staff who take this opportunity will be redeployed from their substantive post for up to six months, from week commencing 6 September. Following a review, staff will be released back to their substantive posts as workforce capacity allows.
