This European Health and Safety Week here are a few tips for helping to maintain good fire safety in the workplace:
- Make sure you know the evacuation procedure for your workplace
Your line / team manager should carry out a local induction with you before you start your working duties.
- Keep obstructions off the fire escape corridors
You never know when you may have to evacuate using these corridors, large objects do slow down your escape from the fire incident area.
- Stay with and observe anything you are cooking i.e., toasters.
So many fire incidents can be avoided by paying attention to what you do while cooking food.
- Its nearly bonfire night, the fire service’s resources are always stretched on and around this period.
Pay attention to your surroundings, don’t your work base become the target for opportunistic arson incidents.
