As an organisation with 12,000 staff working in different ways and in different locations, it’s important we communicate and engage with you in ways that meet your needs.
We’re launching some new communications channels starting this week and would love your feedback so we can continuously improve.
Our objective is to provide effective communications to help you feel:
- Informed (but not overwhelmed) about what’s happening at the Trust
- Enabled to do your job well
- Connected to Mersey Care, your team and each other
- Reassured and supported
- Engaged and listened to
- Valued, recognised and thanked
The main changes you will notice…
- From next week, YourNews will be replaced by two separate emails:
- YourWeek on a Monday which will contain all the operational information you need to know and do for the week ahead. Look out for the first one on Monday 20 September.
- YourPeople on a Friday which will contain people stories, team news, recognition and wellbeing information. Look out for the first one on Friday 17 September.
- In October, The Blog will become a more in-depth, monthly blog aimed at our external partners and stakeholders. A link will be included in YourWeek so you can continue to read this.
- YourQ&A will be introduced to offer a monthly opportunity for you to hear from and ask questions directly to the Chief Executive, Prof Joe Rafferty CBE, and members of the Executive Leadership Team during a live virtual session on Teams.
- A new monthly strategic communication called YourBrief will provide high-level, Trust-wide messages for leaders to cascade to their teams through existing meetings. This will begin in early 2022.
- If you line manage people, you will begin receiving a monthly managers’ briefing to support you in your duties to communicate with your teams. This will begin in October.
- There will always be important one-off messages that need to be shared outside our usual communications channels – these will be known as ‘Need to know emails’. They aim to be used as a last resort and will replace Memos. Where possible, these will be sent to targeted groups of staff to reduce the number of emails you receive.
YourSpace will remain the main staff communications channel, supported by our staff Facebook group to help reach those who don’t have regular access to a work computer or emails.
Here’s what to expect from your new channels…
