Liverpool Veterans HQ is collaborating with Leisure Leagues to organise a weekly six-a-side football local ex armed forces league. Together they aim to boost ex armed forces wellbeing by meeting on a weekly basis so they can interact with others.

The Mersey Care team/s can be ex armed forces service users, staff and/or a mixture of both. Male, female or mixed gender teams of six. Squad numbers can be higher to facilitate on/off substitutions. Teams will play in kit with their own logo. Shirts will be provided by Leisure League (if required).

The leagues are run on a zero tolerance, no nonsense disciplinary policy. This is strictly enforced. All matches have a referee and this also provides an opportunity for participants to be trained by Leisure Leagues as a referee and to receive sessional match fees as a result along with full referees kit and whistle.

Matches are played outdoors on artificial pitches. Most likely at Tiber Football Centre, Tagus Street, Liverpool 8 or Heron Eccles facilities in Abbottshey Avenue, Liverpool 18. Evening or weekend kick off times. Venue and match fixtures provided by Leisure Leagues.

Players/teams are incentivised with weekly prize draws and with an opportunity to play at an international Leisure Leagues tournament. Cost per team is £35 per week payable to Leisure Leagues.
