Publish date: 22 March 2023

We have published our annual Workforce Equality Analysis Report (WEAR). The WEAR is a comprehensive overview from 1 of January 2022 to 31 December 2022 around the make-up of our workforce and includes anonymised details around all the protected characteristics, as well as profiles around pay, recruitment, promotions, leavers, starters and formal procedures.

The WEAR includes many data sets and analysis around colleagues in both substantive and temporary staffing positions.  The workforce data also has to be compared to populations of the Local Area Divisions across our catchment area, by each protected characteristic.  For the first time in the 2022 report, we have local area information around Sexual Orientation, taken from the ONS Census, 2021 with which we are benchmarked.

It is a legal requirement under the Specific Duties of the Equality Act (2010) for the Trust to analyse our workforce and publish a report by 30 March.  Our WEAR is also submitted to the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board as evidence of equality duty adherence, under the NHS Standard Contract.
