Electricity North West is carrying out essential maintenance work (building new homes and connecting electricity) on the Whalley site on 30 January 2023 between the hours of 9am to 4pm.
The majority of the site will be supported by a generator and the supply will be switched to the generator at 8am on 30 January. When the mains supply is switched to generator supply, there will be a five second maximum gap in power being restored. However, this will take down the computer network for up to 10 minutes while the network switches re-establish connection. This will affect PCs, phones and printers, although 3G/4G laptops should remain unaffected. When the supply is switched from generator supply to the mains supply at 4pm, there will be a further five second maximum gap in power being restored and 10 minutes network disruption.
Staff are advised to save all computer work and log out before both 8am and 4pm to avoid loss or corruption of work. Mobile phone and radio handsets will be available for ward areas for use during this disruption.
Sites that won’t be supported with electricity during 9am to 11am are:
- Pendle Drive
- North Lodge
- Moor Cottage.
If the work on the above three sites takes longer than two hours, a generator will be provided.
Ravenswood has its own power supply so power will not be affected, however, the network will not be supported and will be unavailable between the affected hours.
Whilst the work is taking place, if you need to contact any of the wards or sites, please contact the site co-ordinator on 07385 952 687.
