From 1 May 2023, Mersey Care will work with Signalise Co-op to provide sign language and interpreting support for service users and carers accessing our services; and for our workforce and family members, when required.
Signalise Co-op is co-owned and co-run by members of the local deaf community and British Sign Language/English interpreters. Regular engagement with their clients ensures services and support are co-designed and person centred. Signalise will be available for the needs of our deaf and D/deaf communities.
By working with Signalise Co-op we’ll have a more coordinated approach to BSL and other types of support across our patch. It will also ensure that the whole of Mersey Care is using the same provider. Excitingly, the new 24/7 service can provide face to face BSL interpreters and has a 24/7 video BSL function readily available.
To minimise confusion, if you currently have bookings for BSL with other providers please keep to those arrangements.
For bookings after 1 May, please place your bookings with Signalise, following the information on our intranet pages.
Further communications on how to book will be shared over the new few weeks.
In the meanwhile, if you need BSL before 1 May 2023, contact Signalise via:
