Mersey Care is committed to supporting our colleagues across the trust to stay well and healthy both inside and outside of work. In these discussions, we have seen how the right technology can have a really important role to play in supporting physical wellbeing and how it can help people make positive lifestyle or behavioural changes that improve wellbeing and fitness in a number of ways. As part of our submission to be part of the Government’s Mental Health Mission, we’re exploring an exciting wellbeing initiative that looks at the use of technology via Apple Watch and iPhones to support users with personalised insights into their wellbeing.

Technology helps to highlight changes to our health, and provides opportunities to learn, reflect and be proactive with self-care. Knowing for example that you aren’t getting enough sleep will support you to be able to take positive steps to get sufficient rest and to start to feel better, have more energy and a more positive outlook in your day. This initiative will therefore signpost participants to useful insights, data, trends and services about you and your health to encourage proactive conversations and help prompt ways for you to improve your overall wellbeing.

In order to protect your data in this programme, the initiative has a transparent approach to data privacy. Permissions will be requested, and participants own their data at all times. Individual data will not directly be shared with the Trust so you will be free to own and use your own health data to support you to make whatever changes you may need to feel as well, happy and healthy as you can.
