Following the acquisition of the former NWBH in June 2021, the Benefits Realisation Programme was established to ensure the potential benefits for our patients, staff and other stakeholders are fully realised. The programme also identifies and aims to address issues and risks which have materialised or increased as a result of the acquisition.
A Benefits Realisation Sub-Committee will monitor the programme and report to the Quality Committee which is chaired by Gerry O’Keefe, Non-Executive Director. Key projects in progress include:
- Patient access - Providing the opportunity to share learning and review the potential of adapting the patient access approach that was rolled out within NWBH /Mid Mersey Division across the Trust. This programme aims to reduce patient waiting times.
- Out of area referrals - The aim is to progressively reduce and eliminate out of area referrals.
- QRVs, accreditation and CQC quality improvement - There is a need to identify any non-compliance with CQC standards across the Mid Mersey Division. This will be achieved through the roll out of a comprehensive QRV programme and individual team quality improvement projects. The QRV programme will also provide an opportunity to identify areas of good practice (excelling teams), share learning and celebrate success.
- Pharmacy services - There is a need to develop and implement single management and governance arrangement for pharmacy services, bringing together the three separate Pharmacy Services (former NWBH/LCH and Mersey Care).
