NWAS have confirmed that there will be further industrial action by Unison, Unite and GMB members as follows:
- 23 January: Unison and Unite (00.00 to 23.59 and Unison 11.00 to 23.00)
- 24 January: GMB (00.00 to 23.59)
Mersey Care staff are not affected by this strike action.
The action on the 24 January only affects the North West region, and NWAS expect further dates to be announced by GMB nationally.
Once again, we have set up the medically led clinical cell for advice on managing our patients during the periods of NWAS strike action, and our escalation flowchart and supporting information has been updated here to help guide and support you through the process.

Confirmed cardiac arrest and immediate threats to life will continue to be supported via the usual process (999 or HPC 0345 140 0144).
Other patients requiring hospital treatment will likely be asked to take alternative transport, such as a taxi or get a lift from family or friends.
We will continue to signpost people to use 111.nhs.uk, their GP or local pharmacy for help with non-urgent health concerns.
