Following recent acquisitions, the Trust has recruited a new head of safeguarding who will span both adult and children’s safeguarding across the newly expanded Trust. We’re delighted to congratulate Sarah Shaw who has accepted this appointment following transfer into the team from her previous role within North West Boroughs. Sarah has a wealth of experience and knowledge within both NHS and social care organisations, she has held key roles and responsibilities for adults, children and children in care services and has an extensive history of partnership working with colleagues in the police and education services.
Sarah will report directly to Sandra O’Hear, deputy director of nursing and quality who is the strategic lead for safeguarding within Mersey Care, acting on behalf of Trish Bennett, executive director of nursing and operations. Sarah will also be linking closely with colleagues within social care and operations to strengthen safeguarding understanding, responsiveness and leadership.
