The National Living Wage increased on 1 April 2023 from £10.37 per hour to £10.42 per hour.
Whilst the NHS are awaiting final confirmation of the pay award for 2023/24 they are putting in place an interim uplift to band 1 and entry point of band 2 salaries to meet this increase in the National Living Wage.
Once we have the outcome of the pay award the difference in the £10.42 hourly rate and the new rate in the pay award will be paid to staff when the ESR system is updated and back dated to 1 April 2023.
Our systems for salary sacrifice approvals will be updated to ensure it is line with the new minimum hourly rate.
