Mental health urgent care (MHUC) has come together at the Trust in terms of operational management but there isn’t a consistent approach across the geographies. To assist in the development of a single MHUC model, four engagement sessions were held with practitioners and one with medical colleagues. The aim of the sessions was to gather feedback from practitioners and medics working within the services, gain an understanding of which parts of the current model had value, which didn’t, and which could work with some tweaks.
In addition to the engagement sessions, an email address and Survey Monkey were set up to enable staff who were unable to attend one of the sessions to provide their feedback. The feedback has been reviewed and themes collated. Based on this, experience, and learning from serious incidents, the principles of an overarching MHUC model have been developed which will be shared in due course.
