LCL’s Microbiology department will only be able to provide a Christmas Day service on the Consultant strike days (Thursday 24 August and Friday 25 August). This means that they will contact clinical teams with positive blood cultures and other urgent results, and will be available to receive calls for urgent clinical advice, during and out of hours.
However they will not have the capacity to deal with non urgent calls.
When ringing for Microbiology advice, please consider whether your call is urgent or can wait.
