Today, Monday 22 May, there will be essential maintenance taking place to future proof and increase the resilience of the EPMA and Pharmacy Stock Control system.

This maintenance will reduce the possibility of system outages and test the business continuity of the server.

This work will take place at 2.30pm and the system will be unavailable for up to one hour when there will be no access to the EPMA system.

Staff should make sure they are logged out of the EPMA and Pharmacy Stock Control system before 2.25pm on today to allow the testing to begin.

All medication should aim to be given after this planned downtime and when system access resumes.

During this time it will not be possible to log on to the system. Rather than having to enact business continuity MAC and MAP reports must be printed out for each ward before 2pm using the reporting tab on EPMA.

Wards can do this using their normal EPMA laptop, it does not need to be done from the business continuity laptop.

Upon system resuming any missed administrations can be recorded on EPMA or nurses can use Override charting (System down) to progress to the next medication round.

Please share this information with all staff on the wards. You can find out more here: https://yourspace.merseycare.nhs.uk/trust-wide-epma/epma-business-continuity

If you experience any issues outside of this timeframe, please contact the IT Service Desk in the normal way.

Thank you for your support.
