Yesterday CQC inspectors continued their inspection of our palliative care service for Liverpool, in Community Care Division based in V7 building. Staff from across Liverpool and Sefton places were present.

Feedback

Initial feedback from the inspectors highlighted that we are providing good, solid care. They observed the team working well together to deliver patient centred care seven days per week, with patients appropriately reviewed, evidence of a multidisciplinary team approach and the valuable wider support from psychologists.

Whilst the teams have gone through change and grown, our staff were described as positive, proud, supportive, friendly, helpful, well skilled and experienced, and inspectors could see evidence of access to training opportunities.

They were really positive about the IMPACT model, single point of contact and the quality improvement projects and triage tools being used.

Inspectors are seeking further evidence and assurance of learning disability and Autism mandatory training requirements and the corporate case load management system and its application.

Appreciation and thanks

Once again, a huge thank you to all staff who have been involved and supported the inspections so far. You should all be rightly proud of the work you do and the difference you make each and every day. Your continued support with gathering data and information is hugely appreciated.
