Earlier this week we shared an update from NHS Employers about the temporary arrangements for COVID-19 sickness absence being withdrawn, and normal contractual arrangements have resumed.
This has resulted in a change to the guidance on inputting COVID-19 related sickness into ESR via ESR Supervisor Self Service:
Any new periods of COVID-19 sickness that started on or after 7 July 2022, should be recorded using the standard NHS OSP sickness scheme. To make sure that COVID-19 absences can continue to be accurately reported on, the related reason Coronavirus (COVID-19) Test and Trace Contact as highlighted below must be used.
No other related reason should be used as this may lead to incorrect payments.
