Vaccination as a condition of deployment (VCOD) consultation
Updated 9 March 2022
As you may have seen in last week’s YourCOVID-19 briefing, Government response to the consultation on VCOD was published on 1 March 2022. Government intends to revoke the regulations which means it will no longer be a legal requirement for health and social care staff to be vaccinated. This will be effective from 15 March 2022.
As a Trust we had to follow legal requirements as stipulated by Government, however, we acknowledge and apologise that this affected many people in different ways and may have caused upset and unrest. We want to support people who may have been affected by this and ask you to speak to your manager, staff support or HR and we will do whatever we can to support you.
Please be assured that letters sent out and forms completed for those who were unvaccinated will not be kept on personal files.
A lessons learned piece of work will be undertaken which may include a variety of sessions with colleagues, managers, staff side and HR to ensure we capture everything.
We will write to staff after 15 March 2022 to confirm all of the above.
