The Government has launched a public consultation on the draft Code of Practice for the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) and Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and supporting documents. The consultation will run for 16 weeks and close on the 7 July 2022. The documents can be accessed online at the following link.
In the upcoming weeks, the LPS Project Team for Mersey Care will be reviewing these documents and co-ordinate a Trust-wide response to the consultation. We will arrange a number of engagement sessions involving colleagues, carers, and service users, to highlight the proposed key changes and implications for our organisation.
