In order to support your health and wellbeing at work, we need to know how you are in your physical and mental health, and what we can do to help.

For this reason, and in line with the national NHS People Plan, we’re encouraging all staff to have a health and wellbeing conversation with your line manager. This important conversation could include topics like equality, diversity (including neuro diversity), inclusion, disability, belonging, financial concerns, flexible working, childcare and caring responsibilities – in fact anything you want to discuss that helps us to help you in work or support your work/life balance.

Health and wellbeing conversations are confidential and should be part of our ongoing duty of care. We have lots of excellent support services in place and it’s essential those who need them make good use of them.

If your line manager doesn’t offer you a health and wellbeing conversation, it’s completely acceptable to ask for one.

To make sure all staff are being offered a health and wellbeing conversation, a question has been added to YourSupervision and MySupervision (former North West Boroughs staff) for managers to answer when recording clinical or line management supervision.

Capturing this data will enable us to monitor and report uptake of health and wellbeing conversations, giving us confidence we are doing all we can to understand and support your health and wellbeing needs at work.
