The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) have produced new resources to help staff ‘stop the ripple effect’ and protect data. This includes best practice around data handling, updating systems and minimising the risk of human error.
A data breach can have a far reaching ripple effect that disrupts people’s lives in ways that many would never anticipate. You will play an important role in stopping this from happening when you recognise the impact of the breach, immediately report it on Radar, exercise your duty of candour where necessary, act empathetically and compassionately, and improve your knowledge.
