You will soon receive your invite to take part in the 2024 NHS Staff Survey and we urge you to complete the survey as fully and frankly as you can.

We are immensely proud of the outstanding work that happens across this organisation every day. We know our people consistently go above and beyond to support our patients, and each other. Everyone plays an important part. Learning is at the core of our culture and by taking part in the Staff Survey, you are giving valuable feedback that will help us to continue to improve things for staff, patients, service users and the communities we serve.

We want to hear from you so that our survey results reflect the experience of everyone who works here - you can see my video outlining just how important this is to me as your new Chief Executive below.

In July and August, many of you participated in Your Voice Your Change conversations, providing us with detailed feedback about what’s going well and what could be better. Although it will take more time to enact many of the suggestions for improvement you shared, we assure you that there are ongoing efforts to address those things that get in the way.

Your feedback really does make a difference. Over the last 12 months, just some of the things influenced by staff feedback have included:

  • Your Voice Your Change: You told us your voice wasn’t always being heard and you want to be more able to influence change. We have held a series of Your Voice Your Change mega conversations and focus groups to more fully understand the actions that would make the biggest positive difference to your experience at work and we are actively working with key leads to move these changes forward.
  • Digital developments: You feel that there is more to do to integrate our various systems, ensure IT equipment is running smoothly, and obtain data easily. We are moving towards the launch of a new single data platform and working with Microsoft to deploy the most up to date products and tools.
  • Space for patients and teams: You told us that finding space can be challenging, particularly when you want to come together as a team. We are in the process of reviewing the room booking system to enable better access to available facilities.
  • Flexible working: You told us that you wanted access to more opportunities for Flexible Working. We are actively encouraging staff to explore opportunities for flexible working, including running piloting approaches so staff can work a range of shift patterns that cover service need whilst enabling greater flexibility for our workforce.

The majority of staff will be sent their survey by email. Please look out for an email from NHSSTAFFSURVEY@iqvia.com with the subject ‘NHS Staff Survey 2024 Invitation’.

Please be reassured that no one from our organisation, or the NHS, will be able to see your survey or be able to identify individual responses. All responses to the survey are strictly confidential and will be handled by our Staff Survey provider, IQVIA, on behalf of Mersey Care.

As a gesture of thanks for taking the time to complete the Staff Survey, we will be asking IQVIA to randomly select consenting individuals in a prize draw. Some of the items on offer include:

  • An Apple iPad Gen 10
  • A Garmin Vivosmart 5 Fitness Activity Tracker Smartwatch
  • £50 Love to Shop Vouchers
  • £50 OneforAll Restaurant Vouchers

There will also be team prizes up for grabs including tea and coffee hampers and coffee shop vouchers. Please look out in our weekly newsletter for further details of what your team can do to be in with a chance of winning.

Should you have any questions about the NHS Staff Survey, we will be holding weekly drop-in sessions where you can ask us anything. Visit YourSpace to see the session dates.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know what you think.
