December's Employee of the Month winner is Nina Byrne, Walk-in Centre, Halewood, nominated by Rachael Barlow for the value of respect

eom.pngNina went above and beyond for a Homeless person that was sitting outside the WIC in Halewood last week. The lady was clearly distressed, crying and really struggling emotionally. She was sat in the cold, shivering with her dog and nowhere to go. Nina contacted the homeless shelter helpline and followed up the referral finding her a place to go that evening. She gave her hot drinks, food and even fed and watered her dog. She even came back after her working hours with blankets from her home in her own time and followed up her previous phone calls to speed up getting this lady some support. She gave her emotional and psychological support whilst doing so. I am beyond proud to have such a lovely, caring and selfless human being in my team and feel she deserves the recognition for this. Well done Nina!

December's Team of the Month winner Silver Birch Hub Maternal Mental Health Service, nominated by Rebecca Hunter for the value of continuous improvement

tom.pngThe Silver Birch Hub Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS) has been through some rocky waters in recent months and are dealing with a lot of change. The resilience of the team to keep going through this period deserves recognition of the important and emotionally challenging work they do.

As a service the MMHS is committed to continuous improvement of pathway development and intervention development. We have recently evaluated our compassion focused therapy for perinatal loss group and found that the group had positive outcomes for patients including having a positive impact on their lives.

Feedback on the group from patients:

  • "This group has changed my life"
  • "I don't recognise the person I was from before the group"
  • ‘’Since the group, I have felt more like everything will be alright’’.

This group has made positive differences to patients but also to the staff delivering it. Colleagues have supported each other to deliver a highly emotive group, and this has helped to contribute to a culture of compassion, courage, and support within the team. Our team and leaders strive to support one another with compassion, courage, and commitment to our shared goal
