Following agreement of the 2024/25 pay award, back dated to 1 April 2024 for all Agenda for Change colleagues, we’ve been informed that we can pay arrears in instalments. It may be preferable for some to receive 2024/2025 arrears payments across several months, rather than in a single month’s pay, for example where people receive Universal Credit payments and changes to monthly income directly impact the value of these payments.
We can offer the option to pay arrears in equal instalments over six months - October 2024 to March 2025 (no other period will be agreed). Anyone considering making this request should get advice, for example, through the Universal Credit helpline or Citizens Advice, to understand how receiving these payments in instalments may impact personal situations. (You will be unable to change to instalments retrospectively). As each person’s arrears amount will differ based on additional hours, enhancements etc. We cannot confirm arrears amounts due prior to October payslips being available.
Therefore, colleagues will need to estimate their expected arrears when considering this.If you leave the organisation, any remainder of the 2024/2025 AfC pay award arrears will be paid as a lump sum in final pay.
Forms must be submitted by 11.59pm on Thursday, 26 September 2024 for payments to be made in six instalments (form is not needed if arrears is to be paid in one instalment). Please include your assignment number and national insurance number on this form.
