The Life Rooms team in Secure Care are running a series of tie-dye workshops, giving patients the chance to design and make a unique piece of clothing.

Tie-dye is a creative process that involves twisting, folding and binding fabric before applying different coloured dyes to create striking, one-of-a-kind designs. Beyond the bold fashion statement, these sessions also support patients’ wellbeing in powerful ways.

Creative activities like arts and crafts have been shown to help reduce stress, lift mood, and support mental health. Studies have found that taking part in arts-based therapy can help people feel more connected, more in control, and better able to process and express their feelings.

By weaving together creativity and care, these workshops are doing more than brightening up wardrobes - they’re supporting wellbeing, one colourful t-shirt at a time.

Since launching in Secure Care two years ago, The Life Rooms has connected with countless patients, through a wide range of creative sessions in art, design, music, performance and their eagerly anticipated Festive Showcase each Christmas.
