To support the requirements of several ongoing national inquiries such as the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA), Bloody Inquiry and most recently the COVID-19 inquiry, NHS colleagues must retain all paper care records. This also applies to non-clinical records such as HR which may relate to an inquiry. This includes all documents, correspondence, notes, emails, presentations, and any other information which may contain content relating to the inquiries.

If you or your team have any documents which are potentially relevant to inquiries, please contact records@merseycare.nhs.uk for further advice.

If documents need to be retained, the Records Team will arrange collection so that the information can be either securely scanned into the electronic patient record or stored in our storage facility.

Historical Records

If teams have any paper care records on-site that need to be removed and stored securely, please contact the Records Team for further advice.

We thank you in advance for your ongoing support.
