Publish date: 13 September 2022
Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a period of national mourning is in place and will continue until the end of 19 September 2022 which is the day of the state funeral.
Government has publicly declared 19 September as a bank holiday which means that Mersey Care will deliver services as we would on a typical bank holiday. Your divisional director will be in touch to confirm arrangements.
As a mark of respect we have been asked to ensure that events are respectful and in keeping with this period of national mourning. Following a review of the events calendar, we have postponed the carers celebration and the children’s mental health events - new dates will be shared in due course. Other planned events are deemed operational and important in terms of information sharing for staff, service users or patients and will therefore take place.
Please can we ask that attendance at events are not shared via social media and, where possible, social media channels remain respectful, dignified, and muted. The extranet will continue to be updated with operational business and YourWeek newsletter will issued on Tuesday.
Please remember there is support available:
- Psychological therapies support emails and phone calls are responded to Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
- Cheshire and Merseyside Resilience Hub is available between 9am and 5pm
- Crisis Lines remain open 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Trust social media and other communication channels will remain limited with operational and patient information only and our flags will remain at half-mast. A book of condolence remains available online at the Royal website.
