We have had some feedback across the Trust about network performance issues. This has been a particular problem for colleagues in Mid Mersey Division due to the requirement to run dual systems on the network whilst staff are migrated to the Mersey Care infrastructure.

Informatics Merseyside (IM) are aware of the issues being experienced and a number of steps have been put in place to improve network performance for colleagues within Mid Mersey Division.

A longer-term solution is scheduled to take place in February, at the earliest opportunity. This will involve upgrading the current network and will deliver improved performance in terms of speed and reliability. The migration of Mid Mersey Division colleagues to the Mersey Care infrastructure is planned to be completed in April allowing staff to collaborate more easily.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increased requirement for colleagues to work flexibly at locations across the Trust, using mobile devices to support this work. Connections to the Trust wi-fi have grown significantly. Over the last 12 months the Trust has heavily invested in upgrading the wi-fi infrastructure and there is an ongoing programme of work to complete this across the entire Trust which will increase the performance and capacity.
