Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place each year on 27 January
The day is a national commemoration day in the UK and is dedicated to the remembrance of the Jews and others who suffered in the Holocaust. On this day in 1945, Soviet soldiers liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and extermination camp. Approximately 1.1 million men, women and children were murdered at the camp.
Tonight at 7pm there will be a ceremony for Holocaust Memorial Day which will be streamed online, you can register here.
The Ceremony will run from 7–8pm
Tonight join the nation and light a candle and put it safely in your window at 8pm to remember those who lost their lives and to Light the Darkness.
