This Policy describes the application of the Trust Lease Vehicle Scheme of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. It consolidates all previous policies. The scheme is available to all colleagues who meet the necessary criteria, or where the Trust has agreed a lease car as part of an colleague’s remuneration package. All colleagues will be expected to participate in the scheme if it is deemed to be economically viable.

Evidence from the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Homicide yearly reports suggest that any patient who is discharged from a mental health inpatient environment are at their highest risk of relapse or harm within the first 72 hours. This Standard Operating Procedure will outline the expected practice standard for each clinician who is involved with the discharge of a patient from a mental health inpatient unit and those who will be completing the 72 hour follow up within the community. Mid Mersey Division.
