Join us for Time to Talk Day on 6 February

Thursday 6 February is Time to Talk Day, a reminder to check in on friends, colleagues and those you care about — and an opportunity to start a conversation about mental health.

We’d like to invite employees across Mersey Care to take part with your teams and colleagues simply by hosting a coffee morning (or an afternoon get-together if that works better); you can even use as an opportunity to raise funds for our charity, Mersey Cares, with all proceeds raised going towards staff wellbeing initiatives across the Trust.

What is Time to Talk?

Launched in 2014 by Time to Change and supported by leading mental health charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, the campaign seeks to end mental health stigma and discrimination and create supportive communities by having conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health.

It’s so important to know that just a small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference.

The more we talk about it; the better life is for all of us.

When is Time to Talk day and how can I get involved?

This year, Time to Talk Day falls on Thursday 6 February and the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team and Mersey Cares Charity Team, will be hosting a tea party in the onsite restaurant at Hollins Park. We’d love to see you there and/or we’d like to encourage you to host your own event on any day that week at a time to suit you.

Our Mental Health First Aiders are being sent resources to support the campaign too, but you don't need to have done the training to take part. We want everyone to get comfortable and start talking about mental health. You can find some helpful resources below.

You can download our very own Time to Talk poster here to advertise your team event.

Time to Talk's dedicated website has a range of downloadable materials to support your event such as conversation starters, bingo cards and bunting

If you’d like to take part, please complete the Time to Talk registration form.

If you’d like to use the opportunity to host a bake sale or alternative fundraiser to support our dedicated charity, Mersey Cares, you’ll be helping to support staff wellbeing across the Trust.

All funds raised from Time to Talk fundraisers will go to the Mersey Cares Staff Wellbeing Fund, enabling the charity to support staff wellbeing projects such as the ongoing Wellbeing Through Wildlife initiative, Wellbeing on Wheels and our support of the Trust’s award-nominated Pause for Thought menopause campaign.

You can request a charity box for donations (check the box on the registration form) and donations can also be made digitally via QR code (which will be provided) and will go directly to the Wellbeing Fund.
