Following the launch of Absence Manager last September, the next phase is Case Manager. This will go live across the Trust from 10 June.

Case Manager works side by side with the Absence Manager system to support managers in the management of sickness absence cases in their team. When colleagues have the number of absences that trigger a stage in line with the Supporting Health and Wellbeing (Attendance) Policy the case manager system will notify a manager. The system then presents the necessary letters required to set up meetings, support colleagues and manage their absence.

An e-learning package has been developed for Case Manager and this will shortly be available for all managers to complete. The training should take about 30 minutes. There will also be information shared at this week’s YourBrief on Tuesday at 10am.

Managers are asked that all documents in relation to existing Short-Term and Long-Term Sickness cases should be provided to your HR team by Friday, 17 May 2024 and any further documents produced between 18 May and 9 June 2024 should be sent to your HR team prior to the 10 June launch date.
