These guidelines provide clear guidance in respect of the requirements of the same sex accommodation standards and establishes how the Trust will monitor and respond in the event of any exception to ensure the delivery of clean, safe environments which provide care that guarantees privacy and dignity. Mixed sex occurrence should be considered a never event. Mixing should only occur where it is clinically justified for all the service users affected.
