  • From Wednesday 7 February 2024, colleagues in children and young people’s mental health services need to know that there are some changes to how HoNOSCA assessments should be recorded in Rio.

  • We’ve added some more great events to our portfolio - the Liverpool Women’s 10K, and the Wirral 10K, as well as finalised a date for our charity skydive on 18 May to tie in with Mental Health Awareness Week. If walking is more your thing, we still have places left for the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in May.

  • Well done to Kate Sanders, Community Mental Health Nurse from the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment (CRHT) who has won Employee of the Month for December. Congratulations to Astley Ward who have won Team of the Month for December.

  • Community mental health services asked staff if they’d like to volunteer to work over a seven day period to help support our service users care and reduce crisis presentations and attendance at A&E.

  • The Cheshire and Merseyside Resilience Hub has now closed. Over the last three years, the team have been exceptional, showing their dedication and commitment to supporting staff with their mental health and wellbeing across Cheshire and Merseyside.

  • Reporting needlestick injuries and / or exposure incidents to the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Department will soon go live through ‘Health Manager’ in Empactis.

  • A reminder for all Trust colleagues that requests received as part of Court of Protection proceedings should be shared with Nicola Peet, Trust Mental Capacity Act Team Manager.

  • Make sure you have a health and safety and or a fire safety representative approve any proposed changes to any environments prior to implementation of any change, you can contact the team on Safety.Team@merseycare.nhs.uk.

  • Sefton resident Brittney, who suffers with severe depressive episodes, is reaching out to thank the team at a mental health support service in Southport, crediting them for saving her life after she had experienced suicidal thoughts earlier this year.

  • The Liverpool and Sefton Perinatal Mental Health Team attended an event in Bootle on 21 March for World Social Work Day.
