This procedure describes the limitations of the administration of medication by Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs) including Health Care Assistants (HCAs) and Assistant Practitioners (APs) in Community Physical Health Services. It will ensure administration of medicines is undertaken by appropriately qualified and competent HCAs and APs with documented authority and competencies, working under the delegation of a Registered Health Care Professionals.
