Information alert

The guidance on this page relates to Mid-Mersey division staff who transferred from North West Boroughs Healthcare on 1 June 2021.

I manage/supervise a student who is self-isolating due to testing positive for Covid-19. Who do I need to inform?

If you manage/supervise a student who has tested positive for Covid-19, you should notify Infection Control, Mid-Mersey Incident Management Team and Practice Education Facilitators.

You must update the above contacts of any significant changes in the students’ condition. This includes deterioration of physical health, admission into hospital and return to work.

Do students need to complete risk assessments relating to Covid-19?

All managers should ensure that students working in their services carry out a risk assessment using the safety assessment and decision (SAAD) tool. They will not be able to access the online form so will have to use a paper copy from the trust PEF team. For students who scored as being high risk using the SAAD tool, the enhanced risk assessment tool should be completed. Guidance on how to carry this out can be found the Enhanced risk assessments flowchart.
