Caring for our Carers 2022 is a specialist course aimed at professionals working in a range of settings: community, probation, health, social services and youth work.

This course will explore the impact of secondary trauma and resilience, using creativity and various art forms to facilitate growth and healing in a supportive environment.

Students will be introduced to Tate Liverpool’s exhibitions and national collection of art, which will be used as stimulus to explore themes around creativity, health and wellbeing.

The course will take place at Tate Liverpool over two consecutive days, (Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 October). Sessions will comprise of gallery-based exercises, group discussions and practical art making activities.

There are no formal entry requirements or previous experience needed to attend Caring for the Carers 2022, but an interest in art is desirable.

The course will be delivered by Sandy D’Silva, an independent trainer and consultant who has over twenty years’ experience of working with Trauma and has delivered a range of Expressive arts courses at Tate Liverpool

The course fees are:

£180, (including VAT), for individuals whose fees are funded by their organisation.

£120, (including VAT), for individuals whose fees will be self-funded.
